Aged Pensions/Repat and Children Under 12yrs will continue to be bulk-billed, with certain doctors, Monday to Friday before 4pm

All other concession card holders will receive a $10 discount

Repeat Prescriptions

Due to the increasing number of scripts being ordered over the phone.

We have implemented a different way to handle these requests.

We will require 24 hours’ notice – in exceptional circumstances doctor may be able to do sooner.

Payment will be required at the time of the request, along with any other outstanding debt.

The fee for prescriptions without an appointment will remain at $15.

If the Doctor decides not to charge for the prescription, this money can be refunded or remain on your file for use on another occasion.

From the 16th of October 2025, Dr Nicole Ovens and Dr Cassandra Collyer will join Dr Tamla Wilke in privately billing all appointments. These changes have been made to enable continued provision of high-quality care.

All patients aged 5 and over will be privately billed.

A $10 discount on the private fee will be offered to all pension, concession and disability card holders on weekdays.

Children 4 and under will continue to be bulk-billed on weekdays, as will GP management plans, health assessments, wound reviews and INR checks.

All consults on Saturdays will be privately billed.

FEE INCREASE – from 1^ST August 2025

After the Medicare rebate, your out of pocket expense will be exactly the same as previously.

Our new fees will be as follows:

Level A (Item 3) up to 6 mins                $60

Level B (Item 23) up to 20 mins            $96

Level C (Item 36) at least 20 mins        $147- $167

Level D (Item 44) at least 40 mins        $180

In 2024 BFP welcomed 3 new nurses, 1 new receptionist, 1 new permanent doctor (Cassandra), and a new baby girl for Dr Nicole Ovens.

In 2024/2025, we have been fortunate to have the lovely Dr Rachel (who leaves mid-year but hopefully returns) as well as the wonderful Dr Mia and Dr Ben.

Dr Kara Atkinson returns soon as a permanent doctor and Dr Nicole Ovens returns from Maternity leave in the second half of the year.

Changes to our Billing Policy: From the 1st November 2022:

1. All Chronic Disease Management Plans will now be bulk billed.
2. All Mental Health Care Plans will now be privately billed
3. All appointments after 4:00 pm on weekdays will now be privately billed
4. Previous billing rules will now be more strictly enforced such that “most” patients will now be privately billed: The exceptions (those that will still be bulk billed Mon-Fri before 4:00 pm) are:
   • All patients under 12 years 
   • All Aged Pensioner and Disability Pensioner card holders
   • All DVA card holders

We hope you will appreciate that these changes have become necessary due to Medicare Rebates not keeping up with our ever-rising costs.  We believe that by making these changes now:

• We will ensure practice viability and improvements into the future, with no scaling back of services.
• We hope to create more appointment availability for our patients.
• We will be able to maintain our very high-quality health care provided by an extraordinary group of doctors, nurses and administration/ reception staff.
• We hope to prevent staff burnout

We apologise to those who are affected by these changes but overall we believe it will provide the best outcome for all. Full details of our Billing Policy are available from Reception.

Bulk Billing Children:

Children under 12yrs will be Bulk Billed – Monday to Friday, before 4pm.
This has changed from under 16 years previously.

Script / Referrals:

Repeat scripts and renewal of referrals requested over the phone will incur a fee of $15.

Missed Appointments:

A fee of $30 will be charged for missed appointment. Please remember to cancel your appointment, if you are unable to attend.
